About This Class

April 19th, 2026
10am-2pm

This is a class for herbalists and others to learn how to help at various events such as protests, rallies, and Occupy encampments. The goal of this class is for individuals to gain practical skills for these situations. We will discuss specifics of working in these environments, including legalities, working within affinity groups, and patient safety. There will also be a discussion about sending and receiving donations in situations such as Minneapolis.

There will also be a strong focus on working with the types of health issues that often occur in these situations, such as anxiety, GI distress, asthma, sleeplessness, pain, injury, and exacerbations of chronic conditions. We will discuss specific herbs, formulas, and other treatment strategies for these circumstances.

This class is largely drawn from personal experience at these events.

Note: this is not a 'street medic' class, which is a longer, more complex, and more comprehensive course for similar situations.

How to Choose Your Tier

General Admission

This tier is at the market rate and reflects the true cost of the service, labor, and expertise of producing the workshop. This price point allows us to generate a profit for the teacher and the school. We encourage those with access to wealth to opt for this tier as it enables ArborVitae to offer more tickets at an accessible price.

Sustainable Admission

This tier reflects the cost of our service, labor, and expertise required to produce the workshop and allows us to make a small profit. We encourage those to opt for a Sustainable Ticket if the price point of a General Ticket is prohibitive.

Solidarity Admission

This ticket tier reflects our intention to make our workshops open for all! We want all members of our community to enjoy our educational opportunities  no matter their financial situation. Opt for the Solidarity ticket if General or Sustainable is not accessible to you right now.
